MSL Take Part in the 10th Anniversary Midnight Walk for Overgate Hospice

As a company, we feel it is very important to give something back to the community and endeavour to get involved in as much charity work as possible. One charity organisation that we’re regular supporters of is the Overgate Hospice. They’re fantastic at designing fun fundraising opportunities that all the community can take in, no matter what age you are. On 9^th September 2017, a team of 11 MSL staff were proud to take part in the Overgate Hospice 10th anniversary midnight walk, a challenging event that offers much more than a simple stroll in the park.

The 10-year landmark event sure didn’t disappoint and included new 7- and 13-mile routes. Both routes passed the hospice building on Hullen Edge Road where the Day Hospice team were on hand to provide refreshments and encouragement to the weary night marauders!

The MSL team successfully completed their route back to the North Bridge Leisure Centre, taking in the night views across Calderdale and raised nearly £300 for the Overgate Hospice!

Overgate are hoping to raise over £70,000 to add to the £340,000 achieved since the walk began in 2008. A record-breaking 1,153 people took to the streets of Calderdale to take on the tenth annual Overgate Hospice Midnight Walk.

According to a recent post on their Facebook page, so far, the event has officially raised over £60,000 for the Overgate hospice. They say a massive thanks to all of the amazing midnight walkers, who took part and those who sponsored the event.
